Pancreatic cancer survivor Vickie Pinney

I lost my father to pancreatic cancer, and then I was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in August 2020.

My tumor was on the head of my pancreas, totally contained, nowhere else in my body. They performed a Whipple surgery and took the tumor out with all clean edges. I have chosen not to have chemo. I am a little over two months out, and I am doing very well!

My nurse navigator told me about the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (PanCAN). I immediately went on the site and was so excited to see other people like me!

PanCAN Patient Services put me in touch with people in my area. PanCAN is a wealth of information, and now I have a connection with people in my area.

Please don’t give up! We are all connected.
